IM-SG-45 is the 10p stamp from the Isle of Man's 150th Anniversary of Royal National Lifeboat Institution issue, released on 4 March 1974. The design depicts RNLB Osman Gabriel.[1]
Design
Osman Gabriel was the Rother-class lifeboat at Port Erin. She was the first of two boats of this class donated to the RNLI by Major Osman Gabriel.[2]
Production details
The stamp was designed by J. Nicholson and printed by Courvoisier using photogravure. It is multicoloured, printed on granite paper, with perforation 11½. Sheets contained 100 stamps, arranged in 10 columns and 10 rows.[1]
Sales and withdrawal
The catalogue records 375,043 sold for this 10p stamp. It was withdrawn from sale on 3 March 1975.[1]
