Autoconfirmed users are registered users whose accounts have existed for a configured period and which have made the required number of edits.

Autoconfirmed status is normally granted automatically by MediaWiki rather than being assigned manually. The precise account-age and edit-count requirements depend on the wiki’s configuration.

Depending on the PhantomWiki configuration, autoconfirmed users may be permitted to perform actions which are restricted for new accounts, such as:

  • editing semi-protected pages;
  • moving pages;
  • bypassing certain anti-spam or CAPTCHA checks;
  • carrying out other actions reserved for established accounts.

As PhantomWiki is a personal wiki with editing restricted to its owner, the distinction between new and autoconfirmed users is unlikely to affect normal use.
