This 25p entry is part of the Landmarks and Queen Elizabeth II definitive series.[1]
Subject
The official sheet describes the tailless Manx cat, drawing attention to its relatively long hind legs and characteristic stance.[2]
Production details
The official sheet credits J. H. Nicholson, R.I., P.S., and Helio Courvoisier SA. It specifies photogravure, five colours, 28 × 33.4 mm stamps, and white paper with brownish-greenish silk threads and special gumming for a tropical climate. It gives the paper weight as “105 gr”. The catalogue calls this granite paper. The sheet does not explicitly state a watermark status.[2][1]
The catalogue gives perforation 11½.[1] The information sheet gives 11¼ × 11¼.[2] SG normally reports perforations to the nearest half and uses the Instanta gauge as its standard. These source readings are retained separately; their difference alone does not establish an additional catalogue variety.[3]
