The stamp is inscribed “ISLE OF MAN – ELLAN VANNIN” and carries the anniversary dates 1825–1975. The illustration is a cancelled stamp detail from the owned official cover.

The catalogue credits J. Nicholson as designer and Courvoisier as printer. The stamps were printed by photogravure on granite paper, perforated 11½, in sheets of 50 (5 × 10).[1]
The official information sheet credits J. H. Nicholson, R.I. and Helio Courvoisier. It specifies four colours, stamp size 29 × 48.2 mm, and sheets of ten rows of five. Its paper description records white paper with coloured silk fibres and special gumming for tropical climates.[2]
