This tracking category contains individual stamp pages that use a catalogue number reported by a secondary source but not yet verified directly against the named catalogue.

Pages are added automatically when {{Unverified catalogue number}} is used.

The U prefix in a PhantomWiki stamp identifier indicates an unverified catalogue number. For example:

MT-SG-U1838

The prefix is part of the temporary PhantomWiki page identifier and image filename; it is not part of the catalogue number itself. Once the number has been checked against the relevant catalogue, the page and image should be renamed without the U prefix and the unverified-number template removed.

This category is distinct from Category:Stamps with provisional catalogue numbers. A provisional number is assigned locally when no confirmed catalogue number is available, whereas an unverified number is attributed to a catalogue by a secondary source but has not yet been checked directly.
