SG 7a is a listed variety of the 5d royal blue Isle of Man regional definitive depicting Queen Elizabeth II.[1]
This variety has a frame flaw at row 20, position 1, on cylinder 1 with no dot. It retains the two phosphor bands of the normal IM-SG-7. The underlying stamp was issued on 4 September 1968; the catalogue entry supplies no separate date for the variety.[1]
The stamp is printed on chalk-surfaced paper without a watermark and is perforated 15 × 14. The sheet format is 240 stamps (12 × 20).[1]
The stamp ceased to be valid for postage on 1 March 1972, under the catalogue’s invalidation statement for Isle of Man SG 1–7.[1]
