SG D8 is the 20p red, black and pale turquoise-green stamp in the first Isle of Man postage due series. The catalogue records two printings, beginning with printing (a) on 5 July 1973.[1]
Questa designed and printed the issue using lithography. Perforation is 14½ × 13½. Sheets contained 100 stamps (10 × 10), with imprints in the right-hand corner of the bottom margin and the left-hand corner of the top margin. The plate numbers were 1A and 1B, each ×3.[1]
Catalogue printings

| (b) | 1 September 1973 | Letter A added after 1973 at the foot of the stamp |
The catalogue records examples of printing (b) used from mid-August 1973 onwards, earlier than its listed date of 1 September. The printing letters are catalogue reference codes, not suffixes to SG D8.[1]
