SG 32 is the 50p Manx shearwater stamp in the Isle of Man pictorial definitive series, first issued on 5 July 1973.[2]

The design is credited to J. Nicholson. Courvoisier printed the stamp by photogravure in multiple colours on granite paper without a watermark. Perforation is 11½, and sheets contain 50 stamps (10 × 5).[2]

The issue information card for the four high values records stamp dimensions of 28 × 33 mm including perforation, five colours and special gumming for tropical climates. It credits artwork design to J. H. Nicholson, R.I. The card describes sheets of 50 as five stamps per row and ten rows (5 × 10), differing from the catalogue's 10 × 5 description; both source descriptions are retained pending clarification.[1]

Catalogue printings

The catalogue records the following printings.[2]

Catalogue printing Date Gum Inscribed year
(a) 5 July 1973 Thick shiny gum 1973
(n) 7 July 1977 Matt, almost invisible gum 1973

These printing letters are reference codes within the catalogue. They do not create additional SG-numbered variants. The inscribed year is not necessarily the year of printing.

Withdrawal

The catalogue records general withdrawal of the issue on 31 December 1978. These are withdrawal-from-sale dates; the cited entry does not give a date of postal invalidation.[2]
